            原產于澳大利亞,自80年代未,英國、法國、西班牙、南非、津巴布韋、日本、東南亞等許多國家。 介紹:
            紅螯螯蝦整個軀體由體表被覆幾丁質甲殼的頭胸部和腹部組成,全身有20節,頭胸部13節。頭胸甲保護著內臟器官,頭胸甲前有一向前延伸的額劍,兩邊各有3~4個棘。頭胸甲背部有4條沿身體縱軸方向排列的脊。雙眼有柄而突起。頭胸部有5對步足,第1對為粗壯的大螯,雄性的大螯在外側有一膜質鮮紅美麗的斑塊,第2、第 3對步足為螯狀,第4、第5對步足為爪狀。腹部有7節,雖被覆甲殼,但節間關聯處有纖維膜相連,可靈活運動。腹部第2節至第5節下面都有1對附肢,稱為腹足或游泳足。腹部第6節附肢向后伸展,加寬稱尾足,并與尾節組成尾扇,是螯蝦快速運動器官。在頭胸部的前端還有3對觸角,1對大觸角,2對小觸角。 紅螯螯蝦在河流、湖泊、水庫、池塘都能生活,白天潛伏在水體中可隱蔽的地方,傍晚和黎明前出來覓食,喜夜晚活動,營底棲爬行生活。常在磚瓦、礫石的間隙中爬行或潛伏在池塘的天然洞穴及人工洞穴中,在較軟的池底中有掘穴能力。有時亦沿池壁上爬或攀伏于水生植物的根和密葉中。
